Understanding of nutrition and propagation relationship is one of the key factors affecting aquaculture industry. Hence forward, traditional aquaculture approach is no longer sufficient to achieve the production goals. Analysis of gonadal structure of catfish Clarias gariepinus males and females during their reproductive cycle is the first step to clarify their reproductive biology and improving propagation of this species in Egyptian hatcheries. The nutritional and histological studies revealed that, the relation between protein and energy levels (protein energy ratio), had a crucial influence on the reproductive criteria of African catfish. It also has an effect on other parameters such as growth rate, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency ratio and protein productive value.

Effects of 4-Nonylphenol on ?African Catfish Clarias ?gariepinus effect of protein energy ratio on african catfish gonadal development
This work revealed the destructive effects of sublethel doses of 4-nonylphenol on the heamatological parameters, biochemical variables and hormonal activity of the adults African Catfish, Clarias gariepinus. Also, histopathological and ultrastructure studies of some organs using TEM confirmed these effects. These destructive effects were studied on the early developmental stages in terms of incubation time, fertilization rate, hatching rate, mortality rate, morphological malformations and histopathological changes using SEM. The genotoxicity of this pollutant was studied using SDS-PAGE, RAPD-PCR, apoptosis detection and micronucleus test.

This publication is a scientific (physical, chemical and sensory) evaluation of an innovative advancement in tropical agriculture and food processing. The study presents a detailed research into the incorporation of a tropical crop(African Yam Beans) in whole-wheat flour for the production of cookies. This eventual scientific output is aimed at tackling the scourge of poor food fortification and malnutrition (especially within women and children) in sub-saharan Africa,hence a proceeding recommendation which would lead to the realisation of a sustainable development in food security. The African yam beans (Sphenostylis Stenocarpa) which has a high protein percentage has also been proved to be a viable crop for tackling protein-energy malnutrition in the tropics.

Development of Infant Formula for Casein Intolerance Babies effect of protein energy ratio on african catfish gonadal development
Matri (Lathyrus sativus) is a low cost and indigenous leguminous crop. we use matri protein isolate as protein source. Physico-chemical, sensory characteristics of infant formula were determined. The product was packed in polyethylene bags and stored at room temperature for a period of 90 days and analysis of the product were done at every 30 days interval. Statistical analysis revealed a non-significant effect of treatments and storage on moisture of infant formula. Statistical analysis revealed that storage had significant effect on the pH and acidity of infant formula, whereas treatment and their interaction effect were found to be significant. All the four treatments showed a significant difference for the pH values of infant for formula. Acidity of infant formula is 1.1 % at the start of the study which significantly up to 1.6 at 90 days of storage period. Statistical analysis revealed that the treatments had a non-significant effect on Protein, Fat, total sugars content and ash of infant formula. On the other hand, storage as well as the interaction between treatments and storage showed a non-significant effect on the all parameters content of infant formula.

Low-Energy Future of the Russian Building Sector effect of protein energy ratio on african catfish gonadal development
In this paper the potential of energy savings and the “lock-in effect” for the Russian building sector are estimated by means of modeling final energy use for space heating. The “lock-in effect” is the potential energy savings untapped due to the lack of policy development. The most considerable final energy use savings and lock-in effect are estimated for the scenario of a significant increase in the market penetration of advanced buildings.To realize the energy savings potential active policy development has to take place in Russia to address existing barriers and drive market transformation towards higher energy efficiency. The analysis of energy efficiency policy instruments has shown that certain steps have been made in this direction. The most significant step is the adoption of the Federal Law “On Energy Savings…” in 2009. However, further implementation of policies and energy efficient projects with the focus on advanced construction and renovation are required.

Kinetics of Fluidized bed Drying of Potato effect of protein energy ratio on african catfish gonadal development
Hot air drying is commonly used practice for the drying of potato. Information is scanty on its drying kinetics with respect to shape and size. Placing the above view forth, this research work on effect of shapes on drying kinetics of fluidized bed drying of potato was undertaken.The potatoes were peeled and cut in to aspect ratio1:1,1:2 & 1:3 for cuboidal shape & for cylindrical shape, cut to D:L ratio 1:1, 1:2 & 1:3.The effect shape and air drying temperature was studied.It was inferred from the study that drying time was reduced as temperature increased for both the aspect ratio and D:L ratio.Effective moisture diffusivity increased as the aspect ratio and D:L ratio increased.As temperature increased, effective moisture diffusivity also increased. Drying constant value in Exponential and Page model were calculated using Marquardt method of non-linear regression procedure in SY-STAT(12.0)which showed that the drying constant “k” decreased as aspect ratio and D:L ratio increased. Page model gave better fit than Exponential model. Energy activation from diffusivity data were found close to the energy activation from drying data.

The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) is initiated by African leaders in order to breach the development gaps between western and African countries; while, in the meantime, the U.S.A runs the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) to boost African trade with the U.S. Unfortunately; neither the NEPAD or the AGOA takes, in real terms, into account one or the other program despite the fact they look to African development. This book asks the question of why African leaders did not integrate the AGOA initiative into the NEPAD program and vice-versa. It suggests some tracks of solution in order to overcome the gaps between these two initiatives which aim to tackle the African development issues. Unlike the thesis version, the book's considers also the gender question on top of the Diaspora's analyzed in the thesis.
